Data Driven Whitelisting Logic

Introduction
In the NFT world, whitelisting is the process by which crypto wallets become allowed early access to sales. In an effort to conduct a fair and objective whitelisting that rewards both big and small supporters appropriately, Refik Anadol Studio developed The Factor System to divide our collectors into various presale groups with differing levels of access to the sale.
Terminology and Definitions
Factor
Factor is defined as the overall value of an NFT by our Studio that can be objectively measured by the age, edition size, and sale price. It is synonymous to a “point” or “points” awarded per work. All of our NFT collections and their associated factors are listed in Table 1.

Cumulative Factor
Cumulative factor (CF) is the factor of a collector’s entire portfolio. It is calculated as the sum of the factors for each of the NFTs that they own. For the mathematically inclined, please see Equation 1 below.

Methodology
We will use The Factor System to split our collectors into groups, each with an approximate number of collectors. Using The Factor System, we can determine a cumulative factor cutoff that is required to be in a group.
For our upcoming Inspiration4/SpaceX project, your group will determine your level of access to the sale. Being in a higher ranking group will provide you access to rarer NFTs. Groups are inclusive: if you are in Group 0, you are also in Group 1. All Cutoff requirements are final except for Group 0, which is limited to the top 100 collectors on the final snapshot day of April 1st, 2022 at 11:59pm PDT. In the event of a tie resulting in more than 100 collectors for the top 100, we will tie break using a RNG. Please see Table 2 for current cumulative factor cutoffs.

Example
Let my RAS Portfolio contain the following artworks:
1 Machine Hallucinations– Mars AI Data Painting
2 Synthetic Dreams– Landscapes
3 Unsupervised– Data Universe– MoMA
Using the factors of each work in Table 1 and Equation 1, I can calculate my cumulative factor score as follows:
Since my cumulative factor is 19, I can use Table 2 determine that I am in Group 1. This means that I will have access to the T+/- SERIES and all works whose group numbers are below them.
